Ostrich

Based on the old myth that Ostriches bury their heads in the sand to avoid dealing with the reality of a pending danger. If I can't see you, you can't see me.

This piece created a lot of hullabaloo when it was exhibited  at the Sculpture in Context exhibition in Dublin's Botanic Gardens in 2004.

The Sunday Mirror christened the piece 'The Ass on the Grass' and ran a two- week story on it which included a fabricated public controversy surrounding the piece.
